About the position
Reporting to the Deputy CISO, the Technology Advisor is accountable for developing and maintaining the Cyber Security Division’s technology architecture vision and roadmap to advance the Bank’s cyber strategy, align with ITS enterprise architecture direction, and enable responsible AI adoption and operational transformation. The role ensures that cyber technology decisions are coherent, future-ready, risk-informed, and responsive to the rapidly evolving threat environment.

In this role, you will connect cyber strategy, architecture, and execution by translating cyber risk priorities, threat intelligence, operational needs, and ITS enterprise architecture direction into clear, practical roadmaps. You will work across Cyber portfolios to assess emerging technologies, guide secure adoption, and ensure cyber capabilities are integrated, scalable, resilient, and responsive to changing business, technology, and threat conditions.

The role will also be an integral partner in responsible AI adoption and operational transformation across Cyber by ensuring the technology architecture and roadmaps enable emerging needs, support secure adoption, and help teams modernize cyber operations in a coherent and sustainable way.

 


What you will do
As a Technology Advisor, you will:

 

Cyber Architecture Vision and Roadmap
Lead the development and ongoing evolution of the Cyber Security Division’s integrated security and technology architecture vision and capability roadmap, ensuring they advance the Bank’s cyber strategy, align with ITS enterprise architecture direction, and respond to the evolving threat landscape.

AI Adoption and Operational Transformation
Contribute to AI adoption and operational transformation initiatives by ensuring Cyber’s technology architecture, roadmap, platforms, and control capabilities enable responsible AI use, improved operational effectiveness, and sustainable modernization across the division.

Emerging Technology Assessment and Adoption
Assess emerging technologies, cyber security tools, AI-enabled capabilities, cloud security patterns, and industry trends to determine their relevance to Cyber’s architecture vision, technology roadmap, and future capability needs.

Cross-Domain Security Integration
Guide how cyber security capabilities integrate across applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, identity and access management, monitoring and response, vulnerability management, data platforms, and enterprise services to support coherent architecture and roadmap decisions.

Solution Advisory and Design Guidance
Provide strategic design guidance on major cyber technology decisions and solution patterns to ensure they are consistent with the Cyber architecture vision, ITS enterprise architecture direction, security standards, operational needs, and long-term sustainability.

Risk, Resilience, and Governance Alignment
Ensure Cyber’s architecture vision and technology roadmap embed cyber risk, resilience, governance expectations, responsible AI use, key dependencies, and operational stability into major technology decisions.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Influence
Build strong relationships across Cyber, ITS, enterprise architecture, business technology teams, and key stakeholders to align on priorities, influence technology decisions, and drive coordinated outcomes that support Cyber’s strategic objectives.

Capability Development and Thought Leadership
Provide technical thought leadership across cyber domains by translating emerging technologies, architecture practices, and industry trends into practical guidance that strengthens secure adoption, cyber resilience, and integrated security practices. Inspire, mentor, and influence senior technical resources to deepen their expertise and grow their innovation mindset

 


What you need to succeed
You will require a strong combination of cyber security expertise, technical breadth, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate complex concepts into practical implementation approaches.


Key capabilities include:

  • Demonstrated ability to define cyber technology architecture, capability roadmaps, and adoption strategies in alignment with cyber strategy and enterprise architecture direction
  • Strong cross-domain knowledge across cyber security, cloud, infrastructure, applications, identity, monitoring and response, and security architecture
  • Knowledge of cyber security frameworks, standards, enterprise architecture principles, and security design patterns
  • Ability to translate cyber strategy, threat intelligence, cyber risk priorities, operational needs, and ITS enterprise architecture direction into practical, implementable roadmaps and solutions
  • Strong systems thinking, with an understanding of interdependencies across platforms, technologies, controls, and services
  • Proven ability to analyze complex cyber and technology challenges and guide integrated solutions that span multiple domains
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage technical, business, and leadership stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Ability to balance innovation with cyber risk management, operational stability, resilience, and long-term sustainability

 


Assets

  • Experience guiding the adoption or evolution of cyber security technologies, tools, or capabilities across enterprise environments
  • Experience working across multiple cyber security domains, such as monitoring and response, identity and access management, security architecture, vulnerability management, application security, cloud security, or cyber risk management
  • Experience supporting cyber strategy development, architecture vision, roadmap definition, responsible AI adoption, or operational transformation initiatives
  • Familiarity with highly regulated environments requiring strong security, resilience, governance, and operational discipline
  • Exposure to AI-enabled cyber security capabilities, threat detection, automation, or secure adoption of emerging technologies

 


Your education and experience
A degree in computer science, engineering, cyber security, information technology, or a related discipline.

Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. Hybrid Work Model
The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a portion of each month as part of the Bank’s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of 12 days per month to help build connections between colleagues.   • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $177,681 to $209,037 (job grade 20)
  • The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at  7 to 10% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (5%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
