They are essential not only for enabling seamless, reliable, and secure access to applications, systems, and data, but also as the first and most critical line of defense against cyber threats, intrusions, and operational disruptions. In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape—where the sophistication and frequency of cyberattacks continue to accelerate—the resilience, scalability, and security of our network environment are more vital than ever.
These functions have become increasingly critical, not only as enablers of secure digital operations but also as the first line of defense against a rapidly evolving threat landscape. This shift demands that all members of the Network team possess strong technical acumen, adaptability, and a proactive mindset to support complex, high-stakes initiatives.
What you will do
As a Network Support Specialist, you play a pivotal role in sustaining and advancing this mission critical environment. You will provide ongoing technical support, maintenance, and improvement of the Bank’s networking solutions, including cloud networking, secure connectivity, and on-premises network infrastructure. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will troubleshoot and resolve issues, optimize performance, and ensure proactive follow up with stakeholders to maintain a secure and high performing digital ecosystem.
Your responsibilities include assisting with tuning and capacity planning for various network solutions and coordinating the implementation of changes across production and test environments. You will also collaborate extensively with the network infrastructure group and other platform teams to ensure the highest level of operational reliability, security, and service availability across the Bank’s systems.
Given the strategic importance of our network, this role requires deep technical expertise, strong analytical capabilities, a commitment to continuous learning, and proactive engagement with emerging technologies and evolving threat landscapes. This team must ensure that the network is not only stable and high-performing, but also agile and resilient—capable of adapting to new challenges while safeguarding the integrity and continuity of our operations.
More specifically, you will:
- Ensure network solutions meets the Bank’s operational needs, ensuring stability, reliability, availability, scalability, supportability, and security are addressed in the delivery of solutions.
- Work autonomously to analyze diagnostic information, resolve uncommon or complex problems, and communicate issues impacting functional or corporate operations while recommending solutions to senior colleagues.
- Provide production support (including on-call support), working with operational support groups to determine the root cause of production incident and the required recommend remedies.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain automation & DevOps practices to improve operational efficiency and reliability. Contribute to AI-assisted workflows by supporting automation for routine processes, operational monitoring, and service support.
- Maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external partners, clients, and suppliers to support operational objectives and drive continuous improvement.
- Create and maintain detailed support documentation, best practices for support and DR (disaster recovery) documentation for new solutions.
- Establish mechanisms to monitor, track and report on service levels and recovery times using incident management metrics.
What you need to succeed
You bring advanced understanding of network platforms, internetworking architectures, and performance/capacity monitoring for critical systems. You demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple activities concurrently—supported by strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. You demonstrate strong attention to detail, accountability, and a proactive mindset to ensure the network remains stable, agile, resilient, and capable of supporting complex, high stakes initiatives.
In addition, you have:
- Experience with at least two of the following technologies:
- Cisco Routing and Switching
- Cisco ONS
- Infoblox DNS
- Network Access Control (NAC)
- VPN solutions
- Network Functions (DNS, load balancing, site selection, etc.)
- Network Security (firewalls, CASB, proxies, etc.)
- Wi-Fi technologies.
- Experience with Cloud solutions and services.
- Experience with one or more infrastructure automation technologies, e.g.: Ansible Tower, Azure DevOps, VMWare vRealize Suite, Terraform or ServiceNOW workflow automation
- Expert knowledge of VLANs, routers, switches, and network protocols such as IP, MPLS, IPSec, and advanced routing technologies including BGP and AnyCast.
- Strong proficiency in network traffic analysis and troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump, with the ability to interpret packet flows, identify anomalies, and diagnose complex network issues
- Experience supporting enterprise networks in operational roles.
- A proactive, security minded approach to network management and continuous improvement.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps principles and tools (e.g.: Jira, scrum, etc.) test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches to accelerate the delivery of new features
- Exposure and/or strong interest in AIOps or AI‑enabled network management capabilities, including predictive alerting, trend analysis, or automated remediation support.
Education and Experience
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, with a minimum of five years of experience supporting critical Cisco based network environments. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. Hybrid Work Model
The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a portion of each month as part of the Bank’s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of 12 days per month to help build connections between colleagues. You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.

- Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $94,193 to $110,816 (job grade 16)
- The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 5 to 7% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (3%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
