What you will do
Reporting to the Director, Wellness and Employee Relations (WER), you spearhead the implementation of the evolving Bank of Canada’s wellness strategy to foster and sustain a healthy and resilient workforce that will support a dynamic, engaged and trusted organization. You build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and develop project plans, including timelines, resources and budget estimates. In addition, you oversee the communications plans and promotion of the Bank’s wellness initiatives and programs. 

 

More specifically you will:

  • lead the implementation and evolution of the wellness strategy (short, mid and long term), including branding and promotion
  • leverage from all the services offered by our Employee and Family Assistance Program (EAP) and promote the program internally
  • prepare and implement communications plans for annual programming (Head Office and Regional Offices)
  • work with the business analyst to develop reports and observe trends to make evidence-based decisions and recommendations 
  • lead related projects (e.g., the annual Wellness Month)
  • provide advice and guidance to managers and employees with respect to wellness resources, including preventive measures for managing resilience and well-being
  • oversee and promote the Wellness Centre to ensure maximum utilization of the space
  • lead the accommodation program by developing an active offer approach based on best practices and legislation
  • lead and oversee the Ergonomic Program
  • coordinate procurement activities and be the primary liaison with service providers that the Bank would partner with (e.g., Canada Life, the Mental Health Commission of Canada, Telus Works) 
  • work in close collaboration with key internal stakeholders (i.e., Human Resources including Disability Management Specialist, Communications, Information Technology Services, Knowledge and Information Services, Facilities)
  • develop an external network related to wellness (including mental health)

 

Your education and experience
This position requires a post-secondary diploma or degree in related field (e.g., human resources, health sciences, social work, communications, marketing or business administration) and project delivery experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

 

 

What you need to succeed

You have a passion for wellness, and knowledge in wellness, accommodation and ergonomic programming, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. Your organizational skills allow you to meet deadlines for multiple tasks and projects and effectively handle changing priorities. You have a strong sense of teamwork, professionalism and client focus. In addition, you can organize events, lead promotional activities, and coordinate and support internal communication plans. 

 

Assets 

  • experience working on wellness-related projects
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification 

 

 

What you need to know

  • Language requirement: English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.
  • Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents
  • Security level required: Be eligible to obtain Reliability

Hybrid Work Model

The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a substantial part of each month as part of the Bank`s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of eight days per month to help build connections between colleagues. You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $106,739 to $125,575 (job grade 17)
  • The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at  7 to 10% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (5%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
  • Flexible and comprehensive benefits so you can choose the level of health and dental coverage that meets your needs
  • Extra vacation days (up to five each year) that you can purchase to add to your vacation entitlement
  • Option to join the indexed, defined-benefit pension plan after 24 consecutive months of service
