What you will do
We’re looking for someone who enjoys designing and delivering high-quality, user-focused website content that is clear, concise, and accessible. If you are pursuing a career in content design and are an advocate for great user experience, this position may be perfect for you.
We’re a small agile team of designers, videographers and content specialists committed to making the Bank’s digital communications leading-edge. We collaborate with stakeholders across the Bank to make our websites useable and useful.
As a content designer on the team, you’ll advise on day-to-day requests and work with the Manager of Digital Content Design to evolve our content-design practice.
More specifically you will:
- Content design practice and standards
- Uphold and evolve the Bank’s content-design practice
- Continuously improve our tools, processes, procedures and standards
- Participate in content-design critiques
- Consult on content-design requests
Collaboration and stakeholder management
- Work with subject-matter experts and stakeholders on content for all the Bank’s websites:
- Collaborate with developers, graphic designers and videographers to seek out opportunities to enhance our content with visuals
- Prioritize work to support departmental and organizational goals
- Facilitate meetings and discussions while clearly communicating the rationale behind recommendations
- Lead with influence, forming and maintaining collaborative relationships
Audience focus and accessibility
- Collaborate with our research and analytics partners to understand how our audiences use the Bank’s websites and make better, data-based decisions
- Be an active champion for readability and accessibility; knowing when to bend language rules and style guidelines to ensure clarity over “correctness”
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts (SMEs), editors and translators to build web content in both official languages
Content strategy and analysis
- Analyze and shape content requirements to deliver compelling experiences
- Perform content audits and analysis to find ways to enhance, or remove, what we already have available
- Prototype content solutions for critique, ensuring usability for both desktop and mobile
What you need to succeed
- Have a keen attention to detail and a strong desire to get things right — but not at the expense of getting things done
- Experience with making complicated concepts easy to understand for various audiences
- Experience with managing projects and triaging requests
- Demonstrated knowledge of tools and processes for creating and managing content for the web

Your education and experience
This position requires a university degree in a relevant discipline (such as information systems and design, library studies, information management, digital media design or communications) with two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. The position language requirement is Level 5 (Fully Functional). If a qualified candidate who meets the language requirement of the position is not found, a qualified candidate who does not meet the language requirement may be considered. Training may be provided to help reach the required level. Both bilingual and unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Hybrid Work Model
The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a substantial part of each month as part of the Bank`s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of eight days per month to help build connections between colleagues. You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.

- Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $80,967 to $95,255 (job grade 15)
- The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 5 to 7% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (3%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
