What you will do  

 

As the Technical Support Analyst, Security Systems, you will support the confidentiality, integrity, availability and reliable operation of the Bank’s physical security systems. Reporting to the Manager, Physical Security Systems, you will provide day-to-day system administration, technical support and troubleshooting. You will also assist Bank Security Officers and other authorized users with system issues, procedures and training. 

 

Specifically, you will:  

  • Administer, maintain and support Enterprise Security Systems (ESS), including physical access control, video management and related technologies, in accordance with approved standards, procedures and operational requirements.
  • Manage incidents, service requests and system issues by troubleshooting problems, assessing requirements, implementing approved corrective actions and escalating complex or high-risk matters as appropriate.
  • Maintain ESS configurations, user access, inventories, technical records and controlled documentation repositories to support effective lifecycle, configuration and information management.
  • Assess and coordinate requests affecting ESS systems, services, processes and procedures by gathering requirements, evaluating options and impacts, and preparing recommendations for review and approval.
  • Support system testing, quality assurance, upgrades, implementations and service improvements by coordinating activities, validating outcomes and documenting follow-up actions.
  • Monitor service-provider activities, work assignments, risks, issues, dependencies and milestones; identify variances; maintain supporting records; and provide status information and analysis for review by project leads and management.
  • Develop and maintain technical procedures, standards, operational guides and training materials, and provide technical guidance and training to Bank Security Officers, authorized users and stakeholders.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable security policies, standards and controls; identify risks, gaps and non-compliance; support technology assessments and modernization initiatives; and participate in after-hours support and travel as operational requirements dictate. 

 

What you need to succeed 

To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong blend of hands-on technical security systems experience, structured analysis, sound judgement and service orientation. You are comfortable working in a controlled operational environment, supporting day-to-day system reliability while gathering evidence, clarifying requirements and preparing practical recommendations for review. You can manage multiple priorities, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical partners, and escalate issues appropriately when operational, security or business risks require attention. 

 

You bring experience supporting and troubleshooting physical security systems, including access control, video management systems, and related technologies. You are confident assessing technical issues, identifying practical solutions, and determining when escalation is required. 

 

Highly organized and detail-oriented, you can effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to established security, governance, and change-management practices. You exercise sound judgment and are comfortable navigating operational, technical, and security-related challenges in a dynamic environment. 

 

You are a skilled communicator who can explain technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences and build productive working relationships with colleagues, service providers, and stakeholders. Your strong analytical and problem-solving abilities enable you to gather and interpret information, identify trends and risks, evaluate options, and develop evidence-based recommendations. 

 

You also bring experience supporting planning, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives, with a commitment to service excellence, accountability, and high-quality outcomes. 

 

Nice-to-have  

  • Experience with Genetec Security Center technologies, including video management, access control or federation capabilities.
  • Experience with CCURE 9000 or another enterprise physical access control platform.
  • Knowledge of Royal Canadian Mounted Police security standards and recognized physical security practices.
  • Knowledge of threat analysis, security assessments, information technology network design or cybersecurity principles as they relate to physical security systems.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, SharePoint, vendor coordination, technical documentation and controlled operational environments. 

 

Your education and experience 

The position requires a post-secondary degree or diploma in a technology-related field and a minimum of five years of relevant experience in physical security or security systems. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French.  The position language requirement is Level 5 (Fully Functional).  If a qualified candidate who meets the language requirement of the position is not found, a qualified candidate who does not meet the language requirement may be considered. Hybrid Work Model

The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a portion of each month as part of the Bank’s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of 12 days per month to help build connections between colleagues. You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.

    • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $82,586 to $97,160 (job grade 15)
    • The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at  5 to 7% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (3%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.

    • Extra vacation days (up to five each year) that you can purchase to add to your vacation entitlement
