What You need to know
We act as the fiscal agent for the Government of Canada, settle the daily transactions of major Canadian banks and their customers, manage our own accounts, and hold Canadian dollar securities for other central banks. We also provide banking services to the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Crown corporation that insures eligible Canadian bank deposits.

 

These operations go on quietly and efficiently behind the scenes, every day—typically around 550 transactions a day, valued at about $40 billion.
As a Scrum Team Member you will gain experience and become proficient in the following:

  • Understand and improve the testing framework;
  • Work as a Test Automation Developer to analyze automation requirements and create automation test suites for products in use at the Bank;
  • Develop and maintain automated scripts and other assets that are used to support testing;
  • Plan, build and maintain test environments with useful test data
  • Execute automation routines against existing applications to facilitate the development objective of the project; 
  • Verify and document test results.


Your education and experience
This position requires the candidate to be currently enrolled in second or third year in a university or college co-op program in computer science, information technology, or computer engineering .  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

 

Your knowledge and skills 
As a Scrum Team Member specializing in Software Testing:

  • You are an effective communicator, self-starter and team player with an affinity for continued learning and self-improvement;
  • You have some knowledge and experience using Java, Python, shell scripting, VB, SQL, Jmeter and/or Selenium;
  • You think innovatively to find solutions to complex problems and act as a change contributor;

  • You enjoy working in rapidly changing environments;
  • You cultivate trust by contributing to a safe environment for healthy conflict and meaningful collaboration;

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of software testing methods and best practices;
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools and techniques;
  • Experience testing web applications, third-party applications and their integration with other systems, web APIs;
  • Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts.
