About the position  
You’ll be collaborating with a cross-functional team of designers, content strategists, videographers, developers, and product managers to deliver the Bank’s digital publications and products. This position requires a deep understanding of the role video plays in communication today. If you are considering a career in video content creation, this placement is perfect for you.  

   

Your future responsibilities  
You’ll be shooting, editing and developing engaging video content to support the Bank of Canada’s communications campaigns, both internally and externally.  

   

Your education and experience  
To qualify, you need to be currently enrolled as student in a degree in television broadcasting, interactive multimedia, digital media or a related field at a college or university (undergraduate level). Additionally, you must be returning to school in the next academic term.  

   

Your knowledge and skills  

  • advanced understanding of video and photography tools and techniques  

  • experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, in particular Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator  

  • great communication skills: frequent and clear communication is a must  

  • self-driven work ethic: you need to be a self-starter who loves taking initiative and seeing things through to completion  

  • curiosity and the desire to learn: our business is changing and growing fast  

  • flexibility is key: who knows what skills will solve the issues of tomorrow?  

  • if possible, please provide a portfolio of your work  

   

Assets  

  • an understanding of the web, including HTML, JS and CSS  

  • basic design/typography/UX skills  

 

Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. Although the position language requirement is English or French essential, we do encourage everyone to improve second their language proficiency for future career growth and to contribute towards fostering a bilingual environment.

Hybrid Work Model

The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a substantial part of each month as part of the Bank`s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of eight days per month to help build connections between colleagues. You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
