About the position

This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in museum evaluation and contribute to improving the museum's programming and visitor experience.

 

What you will do

  • Assist with the planning and execution of visitor studies for museum programs and exhibitions.
  • Collect, organize, and input data into appropriate databases or spreadsheets.
  • Analyze and summarize data and contribute to reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in creating and managing evaluation tools (e.g., surveys, questionnaires).
  • Observe and record visitor interactions and experiences in museum exhibits.
  • Support administrative tasks related to the evaluation process, including document management, scheduling and logistics.
  • Assist with various tasks related to interpretation and education projects.

 

What you will need to succeed

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (preferably in museum studies or related field).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Experience with data entry and basic data analysis (familiarity with Excel, PowerBI or similar tools).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Enthusiasm for museums, education and evaluation work. Desire to learn new tools and techniques for evaluation.

 

Nice to have

  • Fluent in French and English
  • Previous experience with observation studies, surveys, or similar evaluation methods.
  • Experience working in a museum, education setting, or research environment.

 

Your education and experience
This position is open to a student currently enrolled in a related post-secondary program such as museum studies, social studies, statistics, marketing studies, communications or other related field. Experience working in a museum or education setting is considered an asset.

 

 

Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. Although the position language requirement is English or French essential, we do encourage everyone to improve second their language proficiency for future career growth and to contribute towards fostering a bilingual environment.
