What you will do
As a Senior Network Support Specialist, you will provide ongoing technical support, maintenance and improvement to the Bank’s networking solutions and work with the Ottawa team or partners to fix issues, related to Microsoft’s Office 365 Cloud platform (SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, MS Teams, OneDrive etc.) You will also be providing support the evolution of the Bank’s tools and monitor our Office 365 platform’s performance meanwhile ensuring appropriate follow-ups are done with relevant stakeholders to address arising issues. 
 
You will be responsible to assist tuning and capacity planning of various solutions as well as be responsible for the coordination and implementation of changes to the production and test environments systems and products.  
 
You will work closely with the network infrastructure group and the other collaboration tool and platform groups ensuring the highest level of systems support to the Bank.

 

More specifically, you will also:

  • Participate in the planning, design and implementation of relevant architecture, hardware, software.
  • Work autonomously to analyze diagnostic information and/or resolve uncommon or complex problems in a multi-functional setting, assessing and communicating technological issues that affect the functional or corporate level, and recommend solutions to more senior colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external counterparts (partners, clients and suppliers) to support operational objectives
  • Participate in functional and user experience testing.

 

What you need to succeed
You bring an advanced understanding of network platforms and internetworking architectures. You also have experience in performance and capacity monitoring for critical servers. You possess the ability to rank tasks per priority, meet deadlines and perform multiple tasks concurrently with strong relationships skills. 
 
In addition, you have:

  • Knowledge of Cisco IOS, Cisco Nexus OS, F5 load balancers and Infoblox DNS appliances
  • Expert knowledge of VLAN, routers, switches, network protocols; e.g. IP, MPLS, IPSec
  • Experience in supporting Enterprise Networks in an operational role

Your education and experience
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline with a minimum of five years supporting critical cisco-based network environments or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Hybrid Work Model

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $108,874 to $128,087 (job grade 17)
  • The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at  7 to 10% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (5%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.

  • Extra vacation days (up to five each year) that you can purchase to add to your vacation entitlement
