Senior Manager, Screening and Access Management and PPS Projects

Physical and Personnel Security (PPS) is responsible for personnel security, physical security, screening and access management, access control security systems, mechanical systems, security analysis and executive security services.  


About the position
Reporting to the Director, PPS, you lead and manage the Screening and Access Management team and play a key role in managing projects within PPS by driving successful outcomes, managing stakeholder engagement, and leveraging team and budget resources.

You provide leadership and direction for the Screening Digitization initiative and Access Management system upgrades including defining scope, monitoring project plans, managing resources to ensure project milestones are met and project outcomes are achieved.

You represent and advocate for Corporate Security Service with external stakeholders and Government of Canada (GoC) agencies to establish best practices, manage and negotiate changes to maximize relationship benefits for all parties. You represent the Bank and it is essential that you communicate in a succinct manner to protect our interests and work in union with our GoC counterparts. 

You are responsible for performance management, coaching and developing team members, and motivating them to develop process improvements, work habits and communication skills that enables client-service and challenges the status quo. Your team consists of five direct reports and three indirect reports.


Your future responsibilities
You contribute to the direction of the department and foster a positive working environment that motivates staff to embrace and manage change, develop innovative solutions, take calculated risks and promote cooperation and partnerships.

You will be involved in several large-scale security projects that will require you to gain a broad understanding of the Bank's business, processes and capabilities. You will be required to grasp business strategies and translate them into tactics to mobilize resources and achieve results. You should be able to work autonomously and show initiative to advance projects.

You will support all PPS projects to plan, execute, and maximize resources across projects to leverage efficiencies, common project tasks and activity sequencing and provide program and project management support for PPS projects.

Your education and experience

  • university degree in Criminology, Business Administration or another related field
  • a minimum of seven years of relevant work experience in the security field and/or project experience with a significant change management component or stakeholder-management experience 




  • an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered



  • change management certification


Your knowledge and skills 
We are looking for a leader with excellent communication skills who has knowledge of security screening models and protocols and as well as physical security operations and concepts. You should also have solid experience with Agile project management and development, LEAN process improvement techniques and project management life cycle and tools.


You must have comprehensive knowledge of best practices, project-management methodologies, risk management and change-management practices and advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project.


Language requirement
English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $98,200 to $121,300 (job grade 18)
  • Depending on performance, you may be eligible for performance pay for successfully meeting (7 to 10% of your base salary) or for exceeding expectations (15% of your base salary). Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
