About the position 

We are seeking an innovative and dedicated Senior Developer to join the IAM Access Control team within our forward-thinking Cyber Security Program.

 

You will be part of a dynamic and highly skilled team of cyber specialists working in a fast-paced environment enabling Canada’s Leading Bank to work securely. With the increase in sophistication and frequency of cyber-attacks, cyber security has been identified as a top priority at the Bank. The Cyber Security Program was initiated to implement required technology and process improvements to enhance the Bank’s overall security posture.

 

As a Senior Developer, you will lead the coding, implementation, deployment and support activities for Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions for controlling access for all users of Bank systems.

 

 

Your future Key responsibilities

  • Full-Stack Application Development – Design and implement secure, scalable web applications using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (React, Angular, Next.js) and Node.js for backend services.
  • API Development & Integration – Build and consume RESTful APIs, including enterprise integrations with Microsoft Graph API and other business systems.
  • Authentication & Authorization – Implement secure login flows using MSAL or similar libraries, manage token lifecycle (validation, refresh), and enforce security best practices.
  • Cloud Services Integration – Develop and deploy applications leveraging Azure services such as App Service, Key Vault, Storage Account, Log Analytics, Front Door, and Logic Apps.
  • CI/CD & DevOps – Configure and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
  • AI & Emerging Technologies – Explore and integrate Generative AI concepts and agentic frameworks (e.g., Microsoft Agent Framework, Foundry) into enterprise solutions.
  • Technical Mentorship & Collaboration – Guide junior developers, conduct code reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

 

Additional responsibilities

  • Solution Design & Implementation – Author technical specifications, write production-grade code, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and cybersecurity standards.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance – Implement automated testing strategies to ensure reliability and scalability.
  • Performance Optimization & Monitoring – Monitor application health and optimize performance using Azure monitoring tools.
  • Continuous Improvement – Recommend process improvements and adopt emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and security.
  • Research & Technology Evaluation – Stay current with industry trends and evaluate new frameworks and tools for enterprise adoption.

 

What you need to succeed

You have solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions when giving advice and you adapt quickly to changing priorities. You demonstrate initiative and judgment as well as the ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects concurrently within tight time frames.  Your strong communication skills enable you to be client focused and have the ability to work in co-operation with business partners and to work effectively and maintain positive and co-operative working relationships with other project members and teams in the Information Technology Services Department.

 

As a Senior Developer, you must have extensive experience in coding, implementation and deployment with the following:

 

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Experience with React, Angular, or Next.js for frontend development.
  • Skilled in Node.js, Express, and RESTful API design.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API and enterprise integrations.
  • Expertise in authentication and authorization using MSAL or similar libraries.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure services (App Service, Key Vault, Storage, Front Door, Logic Apps).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Exposure to Generative AI concepts and modern agentic frameworks.
  • Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and security principles in modern enterprise environments.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers and fostering a learning culture.

 

Nice-to-Have  

  • Experience with cloud IAM integrations (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Understanding of Zero Trust principles and secure coding practices.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.

 

 

Your education and experience

  • Degree & Experience: University degree in computer science, engineering, cyber security, or related field, plus 7+ years as a developer on enterprise-level projects and 3+ years implementing large-scale IAM solutions in complex environments.

Additional Requirements:

  • Proven ability to deliver and support solutions aligned with business needs while staying current with emerging technologies.
  • Strong understanding of software design principles, frameworks, components, and architectures, with ability to reuse them effectively.
  • Solid knowledge of web security and capability to troubleshoot and act as IAM Subject-Matter Expert in complex environments.

Hybrid Work Model

    • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $111,051 to $130,649 (job grade 17)
    • The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at  7 to 10% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (5%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
