What you will do
As a Senior DevOPS Platform administrator, you will be responsible for developing automation to strengthen the Bank’s RedHat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server platforms, both in our Bank data centers and in cloud. Using strong problem-solving skills, you will leverage automation to continuously deliver, improve and maintain the support of these platforms, strengthening security and operational resilience along the way. This will include automation of patching, performance monitoring and software upgrades, and more!
As you create or update automation code, you will collaborate, communicate and mentor others to pass on knowledge and gather feedback. Along with improving our platforms service offerings through automation, you will provide “day to day” operational support of all of the Bank’s operating system platforms, addressing operational incidents or project work as required. You will provide technical guidance, improvements and support along with assisting in the planning and coordination of tasks for the team. You will assist in performance monitoring, tuning and capacity planning of the operating system, and the range of products that support the development and testing of the production environments.
As new issues or needs arise with these platforms, you will take the lens of leveraging automation to continuously improve and avoiding the “one off” fixes to solve a problem. You will follow a software development life cycle to document and test new automation, including planning code releases into production.
In addition, you will:
- Provide extensive support for RHEL 9 and 10; monitor performance of systems and service agreements to ensure that ongoing service-delivery standards, service levels and IT policies are met
- Analyze system needs; perform process re-engineering, operation management and research
- Provide extensive support for Windows Server 2016+

- Assess and plan system needs; perform process re-engineering, operation management and research.
- Work autonomously, as well with other support teams, to analyze diagnostic information and/or resolve uncommon or complex problems in a multi-functional setting, assessing, and communicating technological issues that affect the functional or corporate level, and recommend solutions to colleagues or management.
- Develop IT standard operating procedures for technology support and administration.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external counterparts (vendors, portfolios, stakeholders ) to support operational objectives.
- Collaborate across ITS with various infrastructure teams, portfolio clients, product owners and others to plan and execute all operational and project delivery tasks.
Note - The nature of this work will require additional paid on-call as well as paid overtime. These requirements are subject to change but typically involves an on-call rotation within the team of 1 week on-call every month (estimated) depending on capacity and team requirements.
What you need to succeed
You are a proactive thinker, and you question the status quo with the ability to take ownership in helping resolve and improve technical challenges while communicating effectively and collaborating across diverse product and development teams. You also possess the ability to self manage, prioritize, meet deadlines, and perform multiple tasks concurrently with strong relationships skills.
You bring strong technical leadership, teamwork, negotiation, and sound technical decision‑making capabilities required to support a 24/7/365, multi-tiered large-scale production environment.
In addition, you have:
- Proven experience as a developer, managing code through a software development life cycle from creation to deployment in production.
- Proven experience as an Operational Platform Administrator (or similar role) within a large-scale environment (1000+ servers)
- Experience managing and deploying RHEL Linux and Windows servers in Azure public cloud
- Experience with Red Hat Linux (including development of playbooks and automation through Ansible)
- Experience managing Redhat Satellite
- Experience using Ansible to automate configuration of RHEL and Windows Servers
Nice-to-have
- Ability to develop and support Infrastructure as Code (IAC) with tools such as PowerShell
- Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD Pipeline builds, asset (VM) builds/updates, Azure cloud build/configuration.
- Working knowledge of git and vscode
- Familiar with leapp upgrading
- Experience with OpenSCAP
- Knowledge of installation, configuration and tuning of Solaris (ver.11.4) servers using OVM
- Experience with VMWare imaged deployments
- Experience with Azure ARC
Education and Experience
Your combined education and work experience demonstrate that you have the proficiencies and skills for the role. We are ideally seeking candidates with a relevant degree/diploma and 7+ years of relevant experience for the Senior DevOps Platform Administrator role

Hybrid Work Model

- Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $111,051 to $130,649 (job grade 17)
- The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 7 to 10% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (5%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
