Our team
The Governance Office in the Executive and Legal Services (ELS) Department contributes to the development, growth or delivery of corporate strategies, policies, programs and services. This team supports Bank senior management by ensuring the effective functioning of the operations of the Bank’s governing bodies, including its Board of Directors and corporate governance committees.
What you will do
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Governance, you will be working in close collaboration with other members of the Governance Office team. As the Senior Corporate Governance Specialist, you provide integrated and professional secretariat and governance services to the Board of Directors, the Bank’s senior management and the Fellowship Program. You coordinate the integration of all the services provided by the Governance Office to ensure the cohesive and efficient functioning of the team. You are also responsible for overseeing the work of other members of the team and providing backup support to the Director of Corporate Governance. You provide the overall coordination of activities for matters related to the Board, its committees and other executive level responsibilities including working cohesively with Bank departments to provide excellent service.
As a subject matter expert, you provide advice and guidance to colleagues, Bank management, and external contacts to ensure appropriate corporate governance practices are in place and understood.
What you need to succeed
You have experience:
- planning, organizing and managing multiple initiatives with a high degree of attention to detail
- monitoring new trends, providing recommendations on new approaches
- analyzing and summarizing data and developing analytical tools
- communicating effectively with a wide range of executive level internal and external stakeholders
- responding to complex questions and analytical requests
- promoting an environment that supports innovation both in process improvement and idea generation
- reviewing team-based work and using coaching and feedback techniques
You have the ability to:
- understand the practice and principles of Corporate Governance
- adapt quickly to changing priorities and demands
- deal with issues arising both within the Governance Office, the Board, and from other stakeholders in a timely manner
- work independently and collaboratively with a broad range of Bank executives or officers at all levels
- provide advice to colleagues on aspects of planning and prioritization practices
- contribute to open and participative discussions and debate
Nice-to-have
- Experience writing governance documents and communications with Executive audience
- Knowledge of the Bank’s governance structure and mandate
Your education and experience
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, six years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. The position language requirement is Level 5 (Fully Functional). If a qualified candidate who meets the language requirement of the position is not found, a qualified candidate who does not meet the language requirement may be considered. Training may be provided to help reach the required level. Both bilingual and unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Hybrid Work Model

Most employees can telework from home for a substantial part of each month as part of the Bank`s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of eight days per month to help build connections between colleagues. - Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $108,874 to $128,087 (job grade 17)
- The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 7 to 10% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (5%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
