Senior Analyst, Compliance

What you will do 
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Operational Risk, Contingency and Compliance (ORCC) the Senior Analyst, Compliance is responsible for the ongoing support of the compliance policy, articulating a framework, and supporting governance activities.

 

This includes: 

  • Support the design of the compliance policy for Banking Operations, the design and implementation of the framework, and lead the compliance activities and governance participation of the team
  • Recommend improvements to and ensure implementation of recommendations coming from audit reviews and best practice reviews
  • Provide guidance with regards to compliance with third party and audit requirements and ensure gaps are identified and remediated
  • Support the expansion of our Third-Party Risk Management program to include key non-vendor third parties
  • Ensure active management of Banking Operations’ contracts, MOUs and other agreements
  • Act as a point of contact for Banking Operations for compliance matters and coordinate responses to compliance requests from external parties (eg. From FIs, CBs, FMIs)
  • Lead the coordination and facilitation of compliance and audit reviews for Banking Operations, including the maintenance of evidence for large compliance programs and attestations. 
     

What you need to succeed
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in compliance / audit / operations management. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to think critically, and provide sound advice on steps to take to improve our business.  Proven interpersonal, listening and negotiation skills enable you to establish credibility and respect while building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external partners. In addition, you are a strong communicator with sound analytical skills and judgment

 

Nice-to-have 

  • Knowledge of the Canadian payment and settlement ecosystem
  • Understanding of the Bank’s functions, organization, processes and systems as well as a good knowledge of the legal framework supporting these functions
  • completion of, or enrolment in, the CPA program

 

Your education and experience

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a business related discipline with 8 years of Experience in the compliance sector, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
 

 

What you need to know

  • Language requirement: English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.
  • Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents
  • Security level required: Secret

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $85,100 to $106,300 (job grade 17)
  • Depending on performance, you may be eligible for performance pay for successfully meeting (7 to 10% of your base salary) or for exceeding expectations (15% of your base salary). Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
