About the position 

We are seeking an innovative QA Systems Testing Analyst to join the IAM Access Control team within our Cyber Security Program.

 

You will work in a dynamic team of cyber specialists enabling Canada’s leading bank to operate securely. With rising cyber threats, security is a top priority. The Cyber Security Program delivers technology and process improvements to strengthen the Bank’s security posture. This role focuses on implementing tools and capabilities to identify, protect, detect, and respond to cyber threats.

 

As a QA Systems Testing Analyst, you will plan, execute, and automate test strategies to ensure the quality, security, and reliability of Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions. You will collaborate with developers and stakeholders to identify defects, verify security requirements, and maintain IAM integrity throughout the software lifecycle.

 

 Your future Key responsibilities

  • Automated Test Development: Design and maintain automated test suites for enterprise applications.
  • UI Test Automation: Create automated UI tests for modern web apps (React, Next.js, Angular) using Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools.
  • API Testing: Develop automated scripts for RESTful APIs using Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent; validate authentication and data integrity.
  • Multi-Layer Coverage: Perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • CI/CD Integration: Embed automated tests into Azure DevOps pipelines for continuous quality checks.
  • Test Planning: Use Azure DevOps Test Plans for organising cases, managing suites, and tracking results.
  • Collaboration: Work with developers, product owners, and architects to align testing with requirements and standards.

 

Additional responsibilities

  • Validate requirements, report defects clearly, and provide actionable insights.
  • Continuously improve test frameworks and processes.
  • Stay current with emerging tools and QA best practices.

 

What you need to succeed

You have solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions when giving advice and to adapt quickly to changing priorities, demonstrating initiative and judgment as well as the ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects concurrently within tight time frames.  Your strong communication skills enable you to be a client focused and have the ability to work in co-operation with business partners and to work effectively and maintain positive and co-operative working relationships with other project members and teams in the Information Technology Services Department.

 

As a QA Systems Testing Analyst, you must have extensive experience in designing, automating, and executing tests across the following areas:

 

Required Skills

  • Ability to design and implement automated test suites for UI and API layers
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar automation frameworks
  • Strong proficiency testing modern web applications (React, Next.js, Angular, etc.)
  • Skilled in writing automated REST API tests using Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent tools
  • Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing methodologies
  • Proficiency integrating automated tests into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps Test Plans for test case management and reporting
  • Excellent analytical, debugging, and defect isolation skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to learn new tools, frameworks, and techniques quickly.

 

Nice-to-Have

  • Exposure to performance testing (JMeter, k6, LoadRunner)
  • Familiarity with security and authentication testing (OAuth2, OIDC, MSAL flows)
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, PowerShell)
  • Understanding of Zero Trust principles or IAM-related testing

 

 

Your education and experience

  • University degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field, with a minimum of five (5) + of experience in system testing, test automation, or QA engineering in a complex enterprise environment.

 

  • The successful candidate will also have:
    • experience designing automated test frameworks and executing complex test strategies
    • strong understanding of modern client-side applications and web technologies
    • good knowledge of RESTful APIs, authentication flows, and integration testing
    • familiarity with CI/CD concepts and quality integration within DevOps pipelines
    • proven ability to deliver high-quality testing outcomes under tight timelinesor

 

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Language requirement

Hybrid Work Model

The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a portion of each month as part of the Bank’s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of 12 days per month to help build connections between colleagues. You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.

    • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $94,193 to $110,816 (job grade 16)
    • The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at  5 to 7% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (3%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.

    • Extra vacation days (up to five each year) that you can purchase to add to your vacation entitlement
