About the position:
The Information Technology Services (ITS) Findur Application Service team is seeking interested candidates passionate about modern technology, along with innovating QA processes focused on a highly customized third-party trading application called Findur.
You will also have the full support of your leader and team to learn, grow, and further your career through the Bank’s customizable Learning & Development programs across various domains (IT, QA, Cyber, Data Analytics, etc..) and certifications.

 

What you will do
You are an effective communicator, self-starter, and self-motivated individual looking to learn and contribute significantly to meet the team’s objectives. Your core interpersonal and communication skills will be invaluable as you collaborate with the business support group and end users to explore the future of the application.

 

  • Apply solid knowledge of manual and automated testing to design, write, and execute functional, regression, and integration test cases.
  • Work closely with developers and other QA Test Analysts to ensure test coverage aligns with product requirements and development changes.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of automated test feature files.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and product owners to clarify requirements and support test planning and estimation activities.
  • Participate in test plan reviews and requirement walkthroughs to provide feedback and identify potential gaps or risks.
  • Assist in performance and system testing efforts as required, under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Help maintain testing documentation, test data, and traceability matrices to ensure audit readiness and process compliance.
  • Support cross-functional QA initiatives by sharing knowledge, suggesting process improvements, and mentoring junior testers when appropriate.
  • Continuously improve personal testing skills and expand technical understanding of the systems under test.

 

What you need to succeed
This position requires hands-on experience with:

  • Java-based application development using Eclipse IDE, preferably with Oracle RBMS in the backend
  • test driven development using libraries and tools such as mocking frameworks, JUnit, Cucumber, etc.
  • test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD) experience
  • supporting applications with high-criticality, availability, reliability and security requirements
  • a broad level of understanding surrounding information systems and application architecture standards
  • an ability to analyze and interpret complex problems or processes that span multiple business areas, identify and understand requirements, and develop repeatable test solutions
  • strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with other testers and automation developers across multiple scrum teams. 
  • create tangible test design, test artifacts, and feature files from user stories and requirements

Your education and experience
Any relevant combination of education and experience which demonstrate that you have the experience, and/or are effective at learning and applying new skills will be considered. We are ideally seeking candidates with a relevant education (computer science, etc.) and 5+ years of experience.

 

Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. Although the position language requirement is English or French essential, we do encourage everyone to improve second their language proficiency for future career growth and to contribute towards fostering a bilingual environment.

Hybrid Work Model

The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture.   • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $92,346 to $108,643 (job grade 16)
  • The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at  5 to 7% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (3%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
