Organizational Change Management Specialist

About the position
To date, the Bank has made significant investments in cyber security, resilience, cloud technologies, and agile ways of working. Looking ahead, the pace of change continues to increase to adapt to environmental trends and respond to client needs.  Over the next 3 years, several complex and transformative projects will reshape the delivery of IT services at the Bank.  The Information Technology Services (ITS) department, and IT functions of the Bank more broadly, need to be positioned for long-term organizational agility to adapt to an ever-changing future. As such, an IT People Strategy and Organizational Effectiveness (PSOE) team was formed to help people and the department adapt to, adjust and sustain strategic changes. The team enables and supports the development of the roles, skills, and learning required to create an ITS department that is better positioned to enable a “Digital Bank” and support the operationalization of our resilience investments.

 

As a member of the PSOE team, you will support complex organizational and skillset shifts with significant impacts on roles, structure, process and mindset for people in ITS. Your immediate focus will be working with the Infrastructure & Operations teams who are taking on the support and management of new technology.  In response to shifts in both the internal and external landscape, the team plans to adopt a product management approach, while taking advantage of automation capabilities. 

The OCM Specialist will develop and carry out change strategies and plans to support effective change adoption.  In addition to a strong skillset in the change management field, the candidate possesses developed skills in other areas such as project management, analysis and organizational development.


Your future responsibilities

  • Lead and develop change management strategies and activities to support complex organizational and cultural change;
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the Bank to define and implement engagement strategies and plans; 
  • Design and facilitate workshops with a variety of stakeholders;
  • Develop and deliver presentations to various levels of stakeholders;
  • Identify other areas of expertise that need to be brought in to accomplish the change objective;
  • Be an active and visible coach for leaders at all levels and those participating in the change; 
  • Identify potential risks and anticipated points of resistance and develop specific risk response strategies and plans;
  • Create and manage metrics to track adoption, identify performance gaps and develop and implement corrective actions; 
  • Create and enable reinforcement mechanisms and celebrations of success;
  • Prepare and research reports, briefings and presentations, and provide guidance and education on leading and managing organizational change. 

 

Your education and experience

  • bachelor’s degree in organizational development, business administration, communications, human resources or another related discipline with five to seven years of recent relevant work experience in changing organizational culture 

or

  • an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered 

 

Your knowledge and skills

Your leadership skills enables you to navigate through ambiguity and provide guidance as new needs emerge as well as to effectively work with staff and interact with all levels of management.  You have experience in building or leading Communities of Practice (CoP's) or Centers of Excellence (CoE's) to facilitate information sharing and leveraging of best practices and in managing organizational and culture change. You stive at always having an innovative outlook and proactive mindset and always provide system thinking approach to culture change.  Your ability to effectively exchange information, in verbal or written form, by sharing ideas, reporting facts and other information, responding to questions, and employing active listening techniques makes you an effective communicator.

 

Assets

  • Basic knowledge and/or experience of software engineering domain and automation practices. 
  • Demonstrated experience at supporting Agile transformations from design to implementation
  • Experience with strategic planning
  • Knowledge of ADKAR 
  • Change Management Professional (CMP) Certification
  • Knowledge of Agile principles
  • Organization development certification and experience
  • Knowledge or certification in group dynamic, environmental scan and organization diagnosis
     

 

Language requirement
English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $82,400 to $102,961 (job grade 17)
  • Depending on performance, you may be eligible for performance pay for successfully meeting (7 to 10% of your base salary) or for exceeding expectations (15% of your base salary). Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
