About the position 
We are seeking an innovative and dedicated individual to join our forward-thinking Identity and Access Management (IAM) Portfolio within the Cyber Security Division.  
 
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Cyber Credential & Identity Administration you will be part of a dynamic and highly skilled team of cyber specialists enabling Canada’s Central Bank to work securely. With the increase in sophistication and frequency of cyber-attacks, cyber security has been identified as a top priority at the Bank of Canada.

 What you will do  
  As an Identity Management Specialist in the Cyber IAM Portfolio, you will support the enhancement of Privileged Access Management (PAM) with active participation in preventing, detecting, and responding to cyber threats. 
  
More specifically, you will:  

  • Play an active role in supporting and maintaining all PAM capabilities and platforms (i.e. enterprise-level vault management, password rotation, session monitoring, credential discovery, etc.). 
  • Ensure that PAM services perform according to defined service needs and processes and meet applicable security policies and standards used at the Bank of Canada. 
  • Provide system support and validate the integrity of data provided by system owners. 
  • Provide maintenance and support of physical and virtual infrastructure in all environments 
  • Implement enhancements or propose solutions to resolve operational problems and communicate progress to stakeholders on a regular basis. 
  • Identify opportunities for automation, innovation and streamlining the PAM life-cycle processes. 
  • Participate in the design, implementation and testing of new and enhanced IAM functionality including privileged credential management, user authentication & authorization, policy management, session brokering and recording, external integrations, workflows, auditing and reporting. 
  • Participate in defining, improving and documenting business and system processes. 
  • Identity opportunities for automation, innovation and streamlining the Credential Management (CyberArk) life-cycle processes. 
  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, guidance and support to more junior colleagues. 
  • Research and monitor technology developments and industry trends; assess their applicability, functionality and reliability for the Bank and recommend technologies that will enhance productivity and help reduce cyber risks. 
  • Must be able to support IAM capabilities and platforms 24/7 (on a rotation basis) as an on-call resource. 

  
What you need to succeed 
You are a great team player,have strong communication skills and you are willing to communicate and work with colleagues to deliver end-to-end solutions. You are also a self-starter, capable of grasping new information and providing innovative solutions in a team environment. 
  
In addition, you have: 

  • Hands-on experience supporting PAM technology (CyberArk) with advanced understanding of Privileged Access Management (PAM) 
  • Hands on experience with Windows and Linux OS
  • Experience with Scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Perl, Bash, Python) 
  • Demonstrated experience of working knowledge of CyberArk’s Distributed Vault (DV) support and implementation/ operations 
  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation and operational support of CyberArk components that is experience with PTA, CP, CCP and CPM plugin and PSM connector development 

 

Nice-to-have skills: 

  • Experience with Identity Administration and Governance (IGA) solutions including managing user access.  
  • Good understanding of Role Based Access and Attribute Based Access (RBAC/ABAC) including RBAC/ABAC lifecycle. 
  • Good understanding of Cyber security principles related to Zero Trust 
  • Demonstrated experience working in an agile and DevOps environments. 

 
Your education and experience 
Your combined education and work experience demonstrate that you have the proficiencies and skills for the role. 

  • University degree or college diploma in computer science, engineering, business, or a related field 
  • A minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience in the field of IT 
  • A minimum of one (1) years of demonstrated experience with CyberArk, implementation, and support. 

 

Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. Although the position language requirement is English or French essential, we do encourage everyone to improve second their language proficiency for future career growth and to contribute towards fostering a bilingual environment.

Hybrid Work Model

The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a substantial part of each month as part of the Bank`s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of eight days per month to help build connections between colleagues. You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $92,346 to $108,643 (job grade 16)
  • The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at  5 to 7% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (3%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.

  • Extra vacation days (up to five each year) that you can purchase to add to your vacation entitlement
