About the position
The Bank of Canada is at the forefront of Cyber Security, investing in the latest technologies to provide a superior security service in a world-class organization. The Bank’s Cyber Defence Centre (CDC) is focused on a proactive approach to predicting, preventing, detecting and responding to cyber threats to defend a key piece of Canada’s critical national infrastructure and the Bank’s digital information and assets. 

As an IT Security Services Analyst in the Identity Management (IDM) team, you have responsibilities in all areas of Identity Management. You process requests for digital certificates, both internal and external to the Bank, and provide security hardware peripherals. You possess a general knowledge of the security landscape and are comfortable in a highly structured environment.

Your future responsibilities

  • provide and update digital identities using established processes that comply with the Bank’s security policies and technical security standards 
  • process requests to create and renew internal and external digital signature and encryption certificates 
  • second level support for clients with file and email encryption requirements as well as for the secure transmission of data in and out of the Bank 
  • maintain working knowledge of the technical security policies, standards and processes related to digital identity management that are used at the Bank 

Your education and experience

  • bachelor’s degree or three-year college diploma in computer science, engineering, Information Technology Security or relevant field and three years of IT experience



  • an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Your knowledge and skills 
You are a great communicator and are highly client focused and can foster client relationships while abiding by established technical security policies, standards and processes. You are open-minded and are willing to learn and participate in various project deliverables that may be out of your scope of work. Your strong analytical skills enable you to explain and document complex security protocols in layman’s terms. You have general knowledge of computer security issues, threats and trends. 

You have knowledge of: 

  • operating systems: Windows, Unix and Linux 
  • digital certificates and public key infrastructure solutions 
  • digital identity management concepts and concerns 
  • Language requirement: English or French essential


  • GIAC – GSEC – General Security Essentials Certificate

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $69,100 to $81,183 (job grade 15)
  • Depending on performance, you may be eligible for performance pay for successfully meeting (5 to 7% of your base salary) or for exceeding expectations (10% of your base salary). Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
