What you will do
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Supplier and Service Management, the IT Asset Management Specialist will coordinate and optimize all stages of the IT Asset Lifecycle, including the purchase, assignment, maintenance, recovery and disposal of IT Assets. You will coordinate the queue management and run daily team stand-ups. You will support operational activities while also contributing to process improvement, data governance, and asset optimization initiatives across Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM). You will ensure the IT Asset Management Lead and the Assistant Director, Supplier and Service Management, are kept abreast of challenging operational issues.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- ensure IT asset management requests are delivered fully, accurately and effectively for Bank clients in accordance with established ITAM standards and service levels; monitor performance and recommend corrective actions where required
- serve as a subject matter specialist for IT asset management, ensuring effective governance across the full asset lifecycle
- perform regular asset reconciliations, validations, and audits to ensure inventory accuracy, ownership integrity, and CMDB data quality; investigate and analyze variances to identify trends and root causes
- Manage software license compliance activities by validating entitlements, reconciling usage data, and identifying non-compliant, unused, or under-utilized licenses; develop and implement recommendations to minimize risk and improve performance
- recommend, design and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, data accuracy, and lifecycle governance
- lead ServiceNow user acceptance testing (UAT), including validation of enhancements and resolution of defect fixes
- Develop, maintain, and update ITAM procedures, standards, and documentation ensuring alignment with organizational policies to support consistent practices
- provide coaching, guidance and technical guidance to IT Asset Management Analysts, supporting capability development and knowledge sharing within the team
What you need to succeed
You are a strong team player with the ability to communicate effectively, build trusted relationships, and work collaboratively across technical and business teams. You demonstrate strong attention to detail, initiative, and problem-solving skills, and can manage multiple priorities in a structured and organized manner.
You possess experience capturing and analyzing clients’ need for software or hardware assets. You are comfortable coordinating the work of a team and you can offer intellectual leadership to other asset management professionals regarding licensing compliance and inventory management.
In addition, you have:
- Solid understanding of IT Asset Management (ITAM) lifecycle principles
- Good knowledge of the IT service delivery and support processes in the areas of IT asset and contract management.
- Excellent written communication skills to produce clear business documentation (procedures, requirements, reports) tailored to the audience
- Experience working in structured IT environments with defined processes and controls
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with a focus on data integrity and compliance
Assets
- Experience working with ServiceNow ITAM / SAM / HAM
- Experience with SAP and/or SharePoint Online
- ITIL Foundation certification
- Experience supporting audits, license compliance, or inventory reconciliation activities
Your education and experience
This position requires a college diploma or bachelor’s degree in commerce, computer science, information technology, or a related discipline, and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in IT asset management or Software Asset Management (SAM)
OR
- an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. The position language requirement is Level 5 (Fully Functional). Hybrid Work Model

- Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $94,193 to $110,816 (job grade 16)
- The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 5 to 7% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (3%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
