What you will do:
This hands-on Developer role leverages your technical expertise to support and maintain network security solutions, while providing opportunities for mentorship, continuous learning, and career growth.
In addition, you will:

Work in a collaborative, agile environment, with opportunities to think outside the box.

Complete hands-on work within our Cisco and Checkpoint environments, with a primary focus on automation.
What you need to succeed:
You are collaborative, quality focused, and are quick to learn the requirements of working on a mission critical system supporting the Canadian banking environment.
Further, you have:

A passion for technology and a strong desire to learn.

Academic or working experience with programming and/or scripting and workflow automation concepts
-
Demonstrated knowledge and practical skillset in administering and supporting Cisco and Check Point security technologies.
Assets:
The following technologies are actively being used in our environment. Having them as skills is an asset.

Firewall automation (e.g., automated rule creation, validation, and review)

Ansible automation, including integrations with Network Security vendors

Scripting for automation (Python, Shell)

Familiarity with Network Security technologies, network flows, and secure change management processes

Implement secure configurations for firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, and network segmentation.

Automate network security policy deployment

Write scripts or tools to audit firewalls, network access rules, and compliance frameworks.
Education and Experience
We’re ideally seeking a candidate with 3+ years of experience. The ideal candidate also has a bachelor’s degree or college diploma in computer science, software development, or another relevant field.

Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. Although the position language requirement is English or French essential, we do encourage everyone to improve second their language proficiency for future career growth and to contribute towards fostering a bilingual environment.

Hybrid Work Model

Most employees can telework from home for a portion of each month as part of the Bank’s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of 12 days per month to help build connections between colleagues. You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.

- Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $82,586 to $97,160 (job grade 15)
- The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 5 to 7% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (3%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
