Who we are
Employee Communications is a team of dedicated colleagues who work together to help employees get the right information at the right time to do their work and have a great experience at the Bank. We’re always asking how we can make things better. What you will do 
You will play a key role in delivering the Bank’s internal communications, employee news, engagement and events. In this role, you’ll work with talented colleagues to plan, develop and deliver communications strategies and products that work. A creative problem solver, you will use your communications and negotiation skills to instill a nimble approach to thinking and working with teams across the Bank.  

 

In addition, you will;

    • create content (web content, blog posts, speeches, video scripts, etc.) collaboratively with colleagues, reviewing and critiquing work to help us keep growing and improving
    • work on projects that help us deliver on the Bank’s priorities, support our brand and our culture; sometimes involving sensitive materials
    • leverage your knowledge of digital trends and culture to help us meet our objectives

 

What you need to succeed
You’re resourceful, independent and comfortable working in a changing environment. You’re a strategic thinker who can connect the dots between the files and initiatives you’re working on and the other communications and Bank priorities they relate to. You can prioritize and advance multiple files and work with colleagues to set shared goals and objectives. You will provide advice to employees across the Bank, including senior leaders on occasion, so you will need excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

 

You also have experience in the following areas:

    • developing communications strategies, plans and products
    • Web content development from a user perspective
    • project management skills
    • attention to detail

 

Your education and experience
The position requires a university degree or college certificate in a relevant discipline (such as journalism, communications, content development) with five to six years of relevant experience. You may also have experience in delivering effective communications that support Bank priorities like cyber, IT, and facilities initiatives, which will be part of the focus for this role. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 

 

Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French.  The position language requirement is Level 5 (Fully Functional).  If a qualified candidate who meets the language requirement of the position is not found, a qualified candidate who does not meet the language requirement may be considered. Training may be provided to help reach the required level.  Both bilingual and unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Hybrid Work Model

The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a substantial part of each month as part of the Bank`s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of eight days per month to help build connections between colleagues.     • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $92,346 to $108,643 (job grade 16)
    • The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at  5 to 7% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (3%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
    • Flexible and comprehensive benefits so you can choose the level of health and dental coverage that meets your needs
    • Extra vacation days (up to five each year) that you can purchase to add to your vacation entitlement
    • Option to join the indexed, defined-benefit pension plan after 24 consecutive months of service
