What you will do
As part of our Data and Digital Office (DDO), the Data and Analytics Solutions Team (DAS) supports the accessibility, useability, and application of a wide range of data vital to our core mandates for monetary policy, financial stability, and economic and financial research.
We're looking for an experienced Business Systems Analyst to join our cloud migration journey! You will be at the forefront of our strategic "Improve Our Access to Priority Data" (IAPD) project, helping us pioneer new approaches as we move data, tools, processes, and users to the cloud. This exciting transformation will empower our Policy and Research users to better discover, access, use, and share data while allowing us to decommission legacy systems. You will play a key role in the project by providing business and systems analysis which contribute mapping out cloud migration pathways, cloud platforms testing and support, contributing to the designing and development of enterprise best practices, as well as creating solutions that support our economists and researcher’s daily work.
Under the guidance of the Assistant Director and Team Leads, more specifically you will:
- identify and analyze user requirements, performance business process and system analysis activities, build an inventory of use cases for potential cloud migration
- contribute to functional testing across cloud platforms
- coordinate with clients and guide them through user acceptance testing (UAT)
- solve real-time problems and “how-to” questions as users adapt to new cloud environments
- create easy-to follow guides and training materials that make cloud adoption smoother
- contribute to the development and enhancement of cloud platforms functionalities and related processes
- build collaborative relations with clients and partners to support operational objectives
- participate in other projects and team activities and provide support to ensure issues, risks, and changes are identified and managed effectively
What you need to succeed
You are an effective communicator who can write business impact analyses based on client needs and requirements and provide process diagrams of complex operation processes. You excel at managing client relationships where requirements may be unclear or evolving.
You're skilled at:

- Eliciting detailed requirements through effective questioning and collaboration

You have strong interpersonal skills, working effectively both independently and in team settings. Your problem-solving abilities shine when tackling system issues—gathering information, resolving discrepancies, identifying relevant data, and making sound recommendations.
You consistently follow through and deliver quality work on time. You have experience working in policy and research analytical environments and are familiar with analytical tools and programming languages. You also understand the fundamentals of computer systems, IT methodology in client-server environments, and the system development lifecycle.
Your education and experience
The position requires a college diploma or a bachelor’s degree in a related field (statistics, mathematics, computer science, computer engineering, information technology, business systems analysis, etc.) and a minimum of five years of relevant work experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. The position language requirement is Level 5 (Fully Functional). If a qualified candidate who meets the language requirement of the position is not found, a qualified candidate who does not meet the language requirement may be considered. Training may be provided to help reach the required level. Both bilingual and unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Hybrid Work Model

Most employees can telework from home for a substantial part of each month as part of the Bank`s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of eight days per month to help build connections between colleagues. - Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $92,346 to $108,643 (job grade 16)
- The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 5 to 7% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (3%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
