What you will do 

Working in the Economic and Financial Research Department, you will be responsible for providing a range of business support and administrative services to the department. You will collaborate closely with the Business Analyst to support the conduct of business processes, such as reporting on programs, contracts and collecting statistical information. You will also coordinate and implement administrative operations. The Business Support Analyst is instrumental in coordinating essential corporate processes, providing administrative support, and ensuring the overall success of the team through seamless collaboration and dynamic work environment initiatives. Key clients include the Managing Director and members of the senior leadership team.  

 

More specifically you will:

  • Participate in organizational effectiveness initiatives and support business operations, collaborating with the Business Analyst and acting as back-up for certain activities.     
  • Help prepare dashboards, documents, or reports, including some data gathering and processing as required.   
  • Coordinate and maintain administrative support function (departmental day-to-day administrative operations, procedures, logistics and requirements), ensuring that the office runs smoothly, and that managers can focus their efforts on strategic issues. 
  • Manage the schedules and communications of the department's senior leadership team, including travel arrangements, and ensure appropriate follow-up on action items.
  • Provide logistical services for large conferences/workshops or meetings involving multiple parties or external participants.

What you need to succeed

  • Technical expertise in using new tools to drive efficiencies to automate administrative support tasks i.e., expert-level knowledge of Outlook and Word, advanced-level knowledge of Excel and Power Point and knowledge of SharePoint and record management principles.
  • Ability to learn and self-develop technical knowledge of new tools e.g., AI to evolve, streamline and make more efficient processes for the department.
  • Ability to adjust to frequent changes, quickly problem-solve and take initiative while exercising sound judgment 
  • Excellent organization skills: ability to anticipate needs and react quickly to new circumstances
  • Strong interactive communication skills are crucial given interactions with leadership team, as well as discretion, tact and diplomacy 
  • Experience in developing and maintaining a network of relationships with clients, internal colleagues and external contacts. 

 

Assets 

  • Knowledge of business intelligence tools such as Power BI

 

Your education and experience

This position requires post-secondary studies with a minimum five years of relevant work experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Hybrid Work Model
The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a portion of each month as part of the Bank’s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of 12 days per month to help build connections between colleagues. You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $66,179 to $77,858 (job grade 13)
  • The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at  3 to 5% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (2%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
