About the position 
Working in the Human Resources Department, the Pension and Benefits team is tasked with delivering an exceptional pension and benefits program at the Bank of Canada. This includes the overall administration, communications, and acting as the HR department’s pension and benefits subject matter experts. 

 

The Business Support Analyst is instrumental in coordinating essential corporate processes including procurement processes, testing systems and processes improvements, providing administrative support, and ensuring the overall success of the team through seamless collaboration and dynamic work environment initiatives. 

 

What you will do 

Provide end-to-end coordination and administrative support for a complex competitive procurement process, contract negotiations and third-party oversight, ensuring internal and external stakeholders, deliverables and timelines stay on track.  

  • Coordinate stakeholders, meetings, materials, minutes, and action-item follow-up.
  • Maintain project documentation and controls (trackers, decision/issue logs, approvals).
  • Support contracting and contract oversight. 
  • Coordinate the implementation of business processes improvements and participate in testing.
  • Support data exchange with third parties and data quality activities (reconciliation checks, analysis, and follow-up on discrepancies).

 

What you need to succeed

Expert-level knowledge of MS Outlook and experience in email and calendar management

  • Strong MS 365 skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Comfort using approved AI tools to draft, summarize and organize information 
  • Ability to ensure AI outputs are accurate and reliable while protecting confidential data
  • Experience supporting process improvement and recognizing opportunities to effectively leverage new technology 
  • Ability to adjust to frequent changes, quickly problem-solve and take initiative while exercising sound judgment 
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to anticipate needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to confidentiality and integrity
  • Proven track record providing outstanding customer service in both official languages 

 

Assets

  • Experience with the Bank’s procurement process including third party risk management
  • Experience with SAP

 

Your education and experience
Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. HR, Business Administration), and minimum 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French.  The position language requirement is Level 5 (Fully Functional).  If a qualified candidate who meets the language requirement of the position is not found, a qualified candidate who does not meet the language requirement may be considered. Hybrid Work Model

The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a portion of each month as part of the Bank’s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of 12 days per month to help build connections between colleagues. You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.

    • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $66,179 to $77,858 (job grade 13)
    • The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at  3 to 5% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (2%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
    • Flexible and comprehensive benefits so you can choose the level of health and dental coverage that meets your needs
    • Extra vacation days (up to five each year) that you can purchase to add to your vacation entitlement
    • Option to join the indexed, defined-benefit pension plan after 24 consecutive months of service
