The team

We are currently seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Administrator to join the Digital Technology Solutions (DTS) Portfolio in the Information Technology Services (ITS) Department to provide application, software, and hardware support to the business functions of the Bank’s Currency and Economic departments.

 

What you will do:

You will become a member of the data scrum team responsible for our BI Analytic tools - Tableau/Cognos. You will be tasked to ensure the platform suite’s standards/processes are followed and meet existing client Service Level Agreements.

 

More specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Ongoing request management of the platforms (multiple node deployment) including access credentials and reload schedules.
  • Daily monitoring of the Cognos and Tableau server platforms for performance and availability.
  • Incident support and resolution, engagement of application support teams if required.
  • Configurations and management of server licenses and certificates including patch execution communication and scheduling.

You bring an ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbal and written with with both technical and non-technical staff. Your experience allows you to adapt quickly to a changing environment; you embrace change and are always seeking ways to improve.  

 

In addition, you have:

  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills; you are inspired by working closely with your teammates in cross-functional teams to build and support valuable software that delivers a great user experience
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions when giving advice or making recommendations
  • Experience with Business intelligence, data analytics and data visualization tools such as Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
  • A passion for data, analysis, and problem solving.

 

Nice-to-have abilities which will further your success:

  • Familiarity with SQL Server development (versions 2014 and higher) related to data warehouse solutions, including table, view, index, function, stored procedure and other DDL/DML related development
  • Familiarity with BI security, backup/restore functions, and data integration specifically related to data warehouse solutions
  • Experience with Github or similar version control system
  • Experience with job definition and scheduling.
  • Experience working in an agile and dynamic environment

                                                                                

Your education and experience

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or any equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered. Priority will be given to those who’ve graduated from an accredited college with a Business Intelligence Development or Systems Infrastructure diploma or certificate.

Remote work / Hybrid Work Model #LI-Remote

For this position, should you not live within reasonable commuting distance of the office, you will be able to work 100% remote (within Canada) for the duration of this term. The Bank is conducting a trial of a hybrid working model which provides employees with the flexibility to telework for significant portions of each month. During the trial, employees will only be required to come onsite on those days when they are involved in activities that they or their leader feel are better conducted in person.  For the majority of employees, it is expected that onsite time will range from 5 to 10 days per month, depending on your role.

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $72,695 to $85,520 (job grade 15)
  • Depending on performance, you may be eligible for performance pay for successfully meeting (5 to 7% of your base salary) or for exceeding expectations (10% of your base salary). Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
