About the position
As Assistant Director of Banking Operations Applications within the ITS Banking Solutions portfolio, you are responsible for managing a team of Senior Technical resources i.e. developers, solutions architects, solutions integrators, security solutions architect, data architects, etc. who are responsible for enhancing and maintaining a series of mission critical Banking Operations applications. Members of your team are part of the Swift Integration Support team or are Senior Advisors working on supporting various priorities across FMBO.
You have knowledge in leading operational activities as well as in leading application enhancements and/or migration activities.
As a leader within the ITS department, you build relationships with clients and ensure a smooth balance between solutions delivery and operations. You adopt and adapt leading industry practice, using AI, DevOps automation, etc., and you aim at implementing, maintaining, and improving high quality, efficient and effective IT services.
You lead the transition of your Banking Operations applications to the Cloud and you work closely with other ITS teams to successfully achieve this.
You provide oversight on maintaining a full product life cycle perspective, and work to balance short-term achievements with long-term goals (such as minimizing technical debt while maximizing operational resiliency).

Your education and experience
- bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or other related discipline
- a minimum 7 years of IT-related experience, which includes 3 (three) years of experience with large-scale application development/enhancement programs
or
- an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. The position language requirement is Level 5 (Fully Functional). Hybrid Work Model
The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a portion of each month as part of the Bank’s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of 12 days per month to help build connections between colleagues. - Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $153,721 to $180,848 (job grade 19)
- The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 7 to 10% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (5%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
