What You Will Do

As part of the Data and Digital Services Department (DDS), the Analytic Environment Business Support Team (AEBS) provides expertise, advisory services, and operational support for data, tools, and compute platforms within the Analytic Environment - a core ecosystem supporting the Bank’s mandates for monetary policy, financial stability, and economic and financial research.

 

We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to support support requirements gathering, software testing, and application support across both on-premise and cloud-based platforms. The successful candidate will collaborate with business partners, economists, researchers, and technical teams to document requirements, analyze processes and systems, support the development and enhancement of analytical applications, and provide training and guidance to end users.

 

Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will lead and contribute to concurrent initiatives, apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and help advance the Bank’s digital, cloud, and data capabilities.

 

Specifically, you will:

 

  • Work with cloud-based analytical platforms such as Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric.
  • Read and write code using Python and SQL to support data workflows.
  • Use BI tools for data visualization (e.g., Power BI).
  • Provide user support and resolve “how-to” inquiries related to analytical tools and platforms.
  • Lead deployment and upgrades of econometric tools and analytical components within hybrid (cloud and on-premise) environments.
  • Manage software inventory and licensing.
  • Prepare software installation, configuration and evergreening instructions for Information Technology Services (ITS).
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with internal clients and external counterparts to support operational objectives.
  • Participate in projects and provide support to ensure issues, risks, and approved changes to the Analytic Environment are managed effectively.
  • Create and deliver presentations and training sessions for economists, researchers and business partners on analytical solutions and tools.

 

What You Need to Succeed

 

  • Experience working in Linux environments and modern cloud platforms (e.g., Databricks, Azure-based services)
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and workflow support.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate system issues and recommend practical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, non-technical language.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with analytic tools such as MATLAB, Julia, or R.

 

Nice-to-have 

  • Exposure to AI and machine learning technologies (e.g. AI-assisted analytics, large language models)
  • Experience supporting AI-enabled workflows or integrating AI tools into business processes.

 

Education and Experience

 The position requires a college degree in business administration, statistics, mathematics, computer science, computer engineering or information technology, and a minimum of six years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Language requirement

Hybrid Work Model

The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a portion of each month as part of the Bank’s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of 12 days per month to help build connections between colleagues.     • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $94,193 to $110,816 (job grade 16)
