What you will do

As an ATIP Analyst, you’ll support the Bank’s commitment to transparency and compliance by managing ATIP requests and contributing to key priorities like process improvement and modernization. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the Bank, as well as legal, privacy, and external partners, to deliver timely, high-quality responses and build your expertise on meaningful, high-impact files.

 

More specifically, you will:

  • Triage and analyze ATIP requests and consultations; coordinate with business areas to identify records and manage timelines.
  • Review records and apply exemptions; support consultations with other institutions and third parties, as required.
  • Prepare disclosure packages, including severing/redaction in ATIPXpress, and complete quality assurance checks.
  • Draft correspondence and rationales to support disclosure and exemption decisions.
  • Provide routine guidance to employees on ATIP processes and application of legislation.
  • Maintain complete and accurate case files, ensuring requests are properly documented and closed in the case-management system.
  • Support reporting activities, including statistical and annual reporting, and contribute to responses to Parliamentary Questions.
  • Manage intake and respond to internal and external inquiries, ensuring timely and consistent service.
  • Maintain operational tracking and support publication/posting of completed requests.
  • Provide general file and document management support to ensure records are organized and accessible.
  • Support testing and implementation of system updates (e.g., UAT), including developing test cases as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve (or escalate) issues related to ATIP tools and collaboration platforms.
  • Maintain data quality and support reporting and analytics activities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including the use of AI and automation, while maintaining privacy, security, and quality standards.
  • Use analytics to identify trends (e.g., cycle times, bottlenecks) and support continuous improvement efforts.

 

What you need to succeed

  • In-depth knowledge of ATIP legislation, with the ability to interpret and apply legislative requirements in the context of the Bank.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment to support recommendations, decisions, and consistent application of best practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and judgment in handling sensitive information, combined with a strong understanding of professional conduct and ethics.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, including strong writing abilities for correspondence and rationales, enabling you to provide impartial advice and build credibility with stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, and negotiation skills, with an ability to build relationships and proactively anticipate and respond to client needs.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders, contributing to constructive dialogue and team-based review of work.
  • Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to influence others and a demonstrated willingness to learn and continuously develop.
  • Experience supporting ATIP request processing and applying relevant legislation, policies, and exemptions.

 

Nice-to-have

  • Proficiency with case-management and redaction tools (e.g., ATIPXpress), Microsoft Office, and emerging tools such as AI.

 

Your education and experience

The position requires a university degree and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in an analytical position. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Language requirement

The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French.  The position language requirement is Level 5 (Fully Functional).  If a qualified candidate who meets the language requirement of the position is not found, a qualified candidate who does not meet the language requirement may be considered. Training may be provided to help reach the required level.  Both bilingual and unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Hybrid Work Model
The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a portion of each month as part of the Bank’s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of 12 days per month to help build connections between colleagues. You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $73,511 to $86,484 (job grade 14)
  • The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at  5 to 7% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (3%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
