What’s new
The Currency Department is a global leader in bank note issuance and quality management. The Bank’s Agency Operations Centres (AOCs) in Toronto and Montreal have recently undergone major modernization and now operate with advanced high-speed bank note processing and packing equipment supported by a new inventory management system—the Note Processing Solution (NPS).

 

This role sits within the Quality & Data Management team, supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement across both AOCs.
    

What you will do 
As a Senior Analyst, you will provide expert oversight of the performance, maintenance, testing, and ongoing enhancement of NPS equipment used at the Toronto and Montreal Agency Operations Centres.

 

You will:

  • Monitor contractual performance targets and service level agreements with equipment suppliers
  • Lead and contribute to strategically selected projects, testing activities, and system enhancements
  • Analyze bank note quality data to ensure outputs meet established fitness and quality standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, technologies, and system performance
  • Build strong partnerships with equipment manufacturers and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Development Team and IT specialists to support research, development, and operational objectives

Your work will directly support operational efficiency, quality assurance, and the future direction of bank note processing operations.

 


What you need to succeed
You bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with the ability to work effectively in a technical, operational environment.

You have:

  • Experience with electromechanical systems, equipment performance, or industrial technology
  • Knowledge of data analysis, quality monitoring, and system optimization
  • Experience identifying and applying AI and advanced analytics to drive business value, while supporting responsible use through sound governance and risk management
  • Strong communication skills to clearly convey technical information to diverse audiences
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to prioritize, manage risks, and drive improvements
  • Excellent collaboration skills and a strong client-service orientation

 

Nice-to-have 

  • Experience with bank note sorting, authentication technologies, or quality standards (specifically NPS)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 (International Organization of Standardization)
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI and programming language 

 

Your education and experience
The position requires a Bachelor Degree in Engineering OR College diploma in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technologist/Technician or a related field AND 3 to 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Language requirement

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $111,051 to $130,649 (job grade 17)
  • The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at  7 to 10% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (5%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
