The Bank has put in place a Currency’s Agency Operations Centers (AOC) Modernization Program which is mandated to undertake a wholesome review of Currency’s cash processing centers’ operations and to implement their strategic evolution to better enable them to respond effectively to the ever-changing environment and to continue to position them as leading state-of-the art centers. It is a highly complex program given the multiple stakeholders involved and the various streams for review: AOC processes and change management, replacement of the note handling equipment, modification of the information technology systems and environment, upgrades and modifications of facilities, and renewal and enhancement of physical security.   


About the position
Reporting to the Currency Program Manager and as part of the AOC Modernization team, the Project Manager will be assigned projects in various stages of the project cycle and will be required to quickly learn about the project scope, status, schedule and risks to effectively manage, along with the key stakeholder, the projects to see them through to a successful completion. The projects will include: the design and installation of a new conveyor system, and the completion of the request for proposals for new note processing machines. 


Your future responsibilities

  • Acts as a central point of contact for program team and stakeholders in matters related to the assigned projects
  • Identifies and puts in place the required project management tools for planning, tracking, change control and risk management 
  • Manages and reports on project plans, schedule, risks as well as budget using project scheduling and control tools
  • Works with stakeholders to gather, document and validate input, feedback, and project requirements, including requirements in the request for proposals
  • Works closely with the project team and stakeholders to coordinate and manage project interdependencies
  • Provides advice and guidance to others on matters relating to project management practices and methodologies
  • Develops and maintains required project deliverables, supporting documentation, executive briefings and records of decisions, while ensuring completeness and consistency aligned with the Bank’s document-management policies
  • Organizes and leads workshops, meetings, and presentations as well as prepares background materials as required
  • Tracks and coordinates change notices, requests and modifications to project documentation, including, but not limited to, naming conventions, versioning, templates, etc.

Your education and experience

  • University degree or College Diploma in project management, computer science, engineering or relevant discipline, a minimum of 5 years of recent experience in managing projects with multiple and diverse stakeholders, and experience in drafting and evaluating at least two (2) complex requests for proposals  


  • an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered



  • Project Management Professional designation (PMP)
  • experience in delivering infrastructure or equipment installation projects


Your knowledge and skills 

  • Practical knowledge of project management principles, tools and techniques to meet project requirements
  • Effective communicator, able to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work well under pressure, capable of prioritizing work, lead multiple initiatives concurrently meanwhile handling shifting priorities 
  • Ability to effectively manage risks in a complex program with several interdependencies while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Highly developed analytic and problem-solving skills 
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations both independently and within a team environment
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills using the Microsoft suite of tools, including MS Project, Visio, Excel, Word and PowerPoint


Language requirement
English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $82,400 to $108,100 (job grade 17)
  • Depending on performance, you may be eligible for performance pay for successfully meeting (7 to 10% of your base salary) or for exceeding expectations (15% of your base salary). Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
