About the position
Reporting to the Manager, FIN Business Systems Support in the Financial Services Department (FIN), you will provide production operational support and testing to applications critical to the delivery of a range of financial services across the Bank, as well as to the administration of wholesale debt within the Funds Management and Banking Department (FBD). You will apply your knowledge of support methodologies and skills in client relationship management to planning, tracking issues, testing systems and managing risk. You will work collaboratively with other lines of services since support issues often affect more than one business function and require the coordination of deliverables and communications between the Planning and Transformation (P&T) team, the Information Technology Services Department, service providers and other vendors.

 

Your future responsibilities

  • provide first-line, deskside and ongoing support for the following software and applications: 
    • SAP ERP (FI, CO, and TRM modules)
    • Adaptive Insights (Financial Planning & Analysis)
    • Zoption GLSU (SAP GL Interface)
    • Microsoft Access (Matured Debt)
    • PSPC Standard Payment System (Govt. of Canada payments)
  • log and track user interactions, as well report on metrics related to operational support activities
  • act as a departmental liaison with ITS and third-party service suppliers to follow-up on outstanding issues and request for information, and insure appropriate actions are taken to deliver answer/resolution in a timely manner.
  • deliver first-level support to external users (Retail Debt Administrator) of SPS
  • lead the development and enhancement of the supported systems and testing of business continuity plans; manage demand for enhancement requests, review business requirements and coordinate user acceptance testing services 
  • lead the creation and maintenance of a knowledge base of technical/support issues and play a lead role in ensuring new employees have appropriate tools and information services available
  • provide support to the Manager in overseeing research and response to Audit requests, as well as implementation of process changes if required.
  • contribute to the identification of opportunities for improvement and make recommendations for changes to processes or systems to enhance service delivery 
  • develop and maintain business and project artefacts such as use cases, business procedures, test cases, or other assets that are used to support the delivery of financial services across the Bank
  • manage master data and user access/rights in supported systems, as well as being responsible for quarterly user access reviews.

 

Your education and experience

  • a post-secondary diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or management information systems or a professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA) or actively working towards one

and

  • a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in at least 2 of the following: financial accounting and reporting, financial planning and analysis, delivery of business system analysis, SAP FI/COor

or

  • an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

 

Assets 

  • knowledge of FIN’s business lines and FBD’s wholesale debt administration business
  • knowledge of principles and best practices relevant to support desk, software testing and business analysis
  • understanding of business processes related to financial market operations
  • IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis) certification

  • have knowledge of financial accounting/reporting/planning/analysis, as well as experience conducting needs assessment and identifying business requirements 
  • are familiar with testing business functionalities.

 

Language requirement
English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $79,100 to $93,000 (job grade 16)
  • Depending on performance, you may be eligible for performance pay for successfully meeting (5 to 7% of your base salary) or for exceeding expectations (10% of your base salary). Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
