Accounts Payable Analyst

About the position
As part of the Travel, Payments & Projects team and under the supervision of the Manager, Accounts Payable and Receivable, you provide efficient and timely financial transactional processing services, including verification and invoice processing for goods and services, the preparation of weekly payment runs and answering queries related to accounts payable from internal and external stakeholders.
Your future responsibilities
  • plan and rank by priority the processing of invoices to ensure timely payments to vendors
  • ensure the proper coding of expenses and applicable taxes while processing invoices into SAP
  • ensure proper authorization of payments in accordance with the Bank’s Financial Accountability Framework (FAF)
  • prepare weekly payment runs into SAP for the settlement of accounts payable through various methods of payment (cheques, direct deposits, foreign wire transfers, large-value transfers or bank drafts)
  • identify and resolve transactional problems and share knowledge with co-workers to continuously improve operational efficiency
  • participate in identifying business issues that require escalation, and propose appropriate corrective actions
  • participate in the development and implementation of approved procedural process or system changes and help maintain up-to-date documentation of procedures
  • provide support on Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) requests

Your education and experience
  • Post-secondary education in accounting and/or recent experience in accounts payable
  • an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Your knowledge and skills
As an Accounts Payable Analyst, you are an innovative problem solver and self-starter. You have strong written and oral communication skills. You have experience using accounting software packages such as SAP, Sage 50 (Simply Accounting) as well as good working knowledge of the MS Office Suite (i.e.Excel, Word, and Outlook).You work co-operatively with others and are open to play a mentoring role to colleagues as required.


Language requirement
English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $49,800 to $61,500 (job grade 12)
  • Depending on performance, you may be eligible for performance pay for successfully meeting (3 to 5% of your base salary) or for exceeding expectations (7% of your base salary). Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
